Not only is it better for the environment, it is actually better on the budget as well. Just by using a hybrid vehicle, I cut my annual gas expenses from 1.2 k to about $650.00 per year. I also make sure when I am near children and older persons, I drive on the electric motor and produce zero emissions. I learned over the last few years to continue to change and analyze all of my day to day and business behaviors. For example, I work at a home based office and have an environmental office product business. I also use energy star appliances and electronics, cf bulbs, energy efficient windows, a fan rather than an air conditioner at home, and we recycle as well as re-use bathwater to water outdoor plants. As soon as possible and if finances allow, we will install eight solar panels and invest in a Chevy Volt or Nissan Leaf.
